About Yufang

Yufang grew up in a small town of the beautiful province of Yunnan in China. She received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University, working with Dr. Arul Jayaraman to study the role of microbiota derived metabolites in the progress of Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. She stayed in Dr. Jayaraman’s lab as a postdoc to investigate the therapeutic effects of microbiota derived metabolites on NAFLD. She is interested in investigating microbiome-host interactions, especially the communication between microbiota derived metabolites and host.

Outside of the lab, Yufang likes cooking, baking, road trips, hiking, handcrafts and playing with her two kids.
