About Davis
Davis was born and raised in northwestern Montana. He attended Columbia University as an undergraduate, where he was mentored by Dr. Ruben Gonzalez in the chemistry department. In the Gonzalez lab, Davis investigated bacterial translation using single-molecule microscopy. Utilizing chemical biology techniques, he developed a new method to fluorophore-label ribosomal proteins for smFRET microscopy. He is now in the Chemical Biology program at Harvard.
Outside of lab, Davis likes to fly-fish, ski, play soccer (COYG!), play video games, and read. He loves science fiction, and can talk endlessly about The Three-Body Problem series. His favorite books are Plato’s Apology, Norman Maclean’s A River Runs Through It, and Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go.
