About Kijeong

Kijeong grew up in Seoul, South Korea and decided to fly over to the US to pursue his B.S. in microbiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In America’s Cheese State, Kijeong studied the metabolic adaptations of the foodborne pathogen Listeria monocytogenes during intracellular pathogenesis in host immune cells under the supervision of Dr. JD Sauer.

Now, Kijeong is a graduate student in Harvard’s BBS program rotating in labs to pursue his interests in molecular mechanisms of host-microbe interactions that exacerbate host pathology in various disease models.
During his free time, Kijeong might be seen in the Grandstands at Fenway Park having a beer while watching baseball or playing indoor soccer.
